• Today, as we remember the elderly sisters, brothers, and religious order priests who have dedicated their lives to service, pray for new vocations to the priesthood and religious life.  Choose one of the prayers compiled by USCCB Secretariat of Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocation.

Reflect

• The National Religious Retirement Office, which has never used more than five percent of the donations that it receives for administration and fundraising costs, is one example of good stewardship. Reflect on what it means to be a good steward of resources.

Act

• Today, on what is known as Gaudete (Rejoice) Sunday, light the rose candle on your Advent Wreath.
• As many parishes across the country conduct the annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious today, please give generously and with confidence that your donations benefit frail and elderly religious.
• Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron of all the Americas, through whom the faith was first brought to this land. She is, likewise, the patron of the Gospel of Life, through whom the weak, the poor, the forgotten, and the dispossessed may know love and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Take time today to contact your elected officials and encourage them to support laws that respect the life and dignity of all people.
