The Inter-American Meeting of Bishops will take place in LaHabana, Cuba, February 13-16. Among the topics to be discussed are the Synod for America, the Church in Cuba since Pope John Paul II's visit, and celebration of the Jubilee and implications for the Third Millennium.
St. Valentine's Day, named after a Roman priest and physician martyred in 269, is celebrated February 14.
President's Day is February 15.
Ash Wednesday is February 17. Offer photo ops, not just on this day, but on days leading up to the celebration to accommodate morning newspapers of February 17. One idea: Set up pictures of someone burning palms to make the ashes used for the ceremony.
