WASHINGTON (April 27, 1999) -- A useful tool for identifying and locating members of the Catholic hierarchy in the United States is now available from the U.S. Catholic Conference's Department of Communications.

The 1999 Membership Photo Directory of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops/U.S. Catholic Conference includes photos of the approximately 400 U.S. Cardinals, Archbishops, and Bishops, together with biographical information, mailing addresses, office phone and fax numbers, and where available, their e-mail addresses. It also includes listings for the NCCB/USCC committees on which the Bishops serve.

Three NCCB/USCC departments were involved in the preparation of the directory: the General Secretariat oversaw sections regarding committee assignments, regional listings, and seniority; Management Information Services provided technical and data entry support; and Communications prepared biographical citations and was responsible for overall coordination.
