In August, approximately 30,000 students will return to school to prepare for lay ministry in the church. They are enrolled in the close to 300 academic and diocesan programs around the country. This may be something to promote as more and more individuals decide to go into the ministry.
The Knights of Columbus annual convention will be in Minneapolis, August 3-5.
The Feast of the Assumption will be celebrated on Sunday, August 15.
Archbishop Alexander Brunett of Seattle, chair of the NCCB Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, will be representing the Church at the Evangelical Lutheran Churchwide Assembly, August 18-22 in Denver.
