WASHINGTON (August 5, 1999) -- Six national media efforts funded in whole or in part by the Catholic Communication Campaign will be honored with Gabriel statuettes or an honorable mention certificate at the 1999 Unda-USA assembly in Las Vegas in October.

Gabriel winners include:

"Important Meeting," a CCC public service Radio announcement produced by Saatchi & Saatchi for the CCC reconciliation campaign.

"Bernardin," a TV documentary produced by Journey/Frost Productions and Family Theater Productions, and promoted with CCC funds.

"Te Quiero Papa" (I Love You, Dad), a Spanish-language public service TV announcement produced by Accent Media for the CCC Spanish-language family campaign.

"Nuestra Familia: Espiritu Santo, Fuente de Encarnacion," an episode in the regular TV program Nuestra Familia, produced by the Hispanic Telecommunications Network, which benefitted from a $185,000 CCC grant in 1998.

"Te Quiero Papa" (I Love You, Dad), a radio PSA produced by Accent Media for the CCC Spanish-language family campaign.

A Certificate of Merit was awarded to "Today," a public service TV announcement produced by Saatchi & Saatchi for the CCC reconciliation campaign.

The CCC is the U.S. Bishops' effort for values-oriented productions in the media. Other efforts include support for the Bishops' Office for Film and Broadcasting, the toll-free movie review line, 1-800-311-4CCC, and annual specials on the ABC, NBC and CBS TV networks. The collection is supported by a national collection taken up in parishes annually.
