WASHINGTON (September 8 ,1999) -- The Catholic Communication Campaign weekly interview program will feature a new name and time slot with the launch of its fall TV season. Begun last year as Among Friends, the program is now known as Personally Speaking and debuts on the Odyssey cable network in its new time slot, Friday, October 8, 10:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m.
The series also will boast a lineup of stellar guests to be interviewed by returning host Msgr. Jim Lisante. Updated graphics and the addition of clips and other visuals throughout the program will enhance Personally Speaking's a contemporary look.
Guests for Personally Speaking's new season will come from the worlds of entertainment, religion, sports, journalism and literature and reveal the personal and professional impact of faith on their lives. With Msgr. Lisante's wide range of interests and thoughtful questions, the program shows guests relaxed and willing to engage in some surprisingly personal conversations.
"We are very excited about the guests lined up for this season," says CCC Director of Production Ellen McCloskey. "We're off to a running start with several episodes taped this summer ready to go."
The 1999-2000 season of Personally Speaking also will be offered to Catholic dioceses for local placement free of charge, except for the costs of dubbing and shipping tapes in the requested format.
Personally Speaking guests for the 1999 fall season will include actors Edward Herrmann and John Bolger, former Major League Baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn, opera singer Barbara Dever, journalists Peter Steinfels and Margaret O'Brien Steinfels, Cartoonist Bill Keane, actress Elaine Stritch and Mother Dolores Hart, a Benedictine nun and former actress who now lives in a cloistered community.
