Down the Road: Calendar of July Events

July 4 is Independence Day, and also the Jubilee Day of Religious Freedom.

"Conversations in Excellence": A Symposium on Integrating Catholic Social Teaching in Catholic Schools will take place from July 6-9. It is co-sponsored by the National Catholic Educational Association and Boston College.

Saturday July 8 marks the Jubilee Celebration of Cultural Diversity.

Jubilee Day in Prisons is Sunday July 9.

On July 16-21 a Workshop: "Pastoring in Today's Parish" will be held at Oblate Renewal Center, San Antonio. Its sponsor is the National Pastoral Life Center.

On July 18-27 an Institute for Interreligious Leadership will be sponsored by the U.S. Bishops' Committee for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs and the National Association of Diocesan Ecumenical Officers at Loyola at The Cenacle, Chicago.

Pax Christi USA will hold its National Assembly on July 23-28 at Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, VA. The theme is "Sound the Jubilee Trumpet: Reconcile, Renew, Rejoice!"

July 26 is the Feast Day of Saints Joachim and Anne, parents of Mary.
