WASHINGTON (February 26, 2003) -- The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Secretariat for Family, Laity, Women and Youth has just released its 2002-2003 Directory of Lay Movements, Organizations, and Professional Associations.

The directory contains listings for more than 100 national lay movements, professional associations, and organizations. Each listing includes a brief description of the group and the name, address, phone number of a contact person, and web/email information if available. The groups listed are national in scope, but not all are solely lay. Some are included because their work affects the life and mission of the laity and/or because their membership has a significant lay component.

The secretariat acknowledges that the listing is a partial one and welcomes suggestions for groups to be included in future editions.
