National Migration Conference Advisory
Registration for Media Now Open


WASHINGTON—Registration is now open for media to cover the 2008 National Migration Conference, Renewing Hope, Seeking Justice, July 28-31, at the Hilton Washington Hotel. To register, please fill out the registration form and fax it to 202-541-3173 or e-mail to mmunoz-visoso@usccb.org.
           
Media credentials and documentation will be available for pick up each day at the Media Desk during the conference. Media Desk will open Monday, July 28, at noon.
           
Presenters include Cardinal Roger Mahony of Los Angeles, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement Julie Myers, Representative Chris Smith (R-4th, NJ), Professor Marcelo Suárez-Orozco of New York University, authors Edwidge Danticat and Immaculee Ilibagiza, and General Inspector of the National Commission of Human Rights of Mexico, Mauricio Farah Gebara. The conference will also feature numerous experts on immigration and refugee policy, advocacy, legal services, program resource and development, resettlement services, pastoral care and more.
           
The National Migration Conference is sponsored approximately every five years by Migration and Refugee Services of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc.
