Bishops to Vote on USCCB Secretary-Elect, Chairs-Elect of Five Committees
WASHINGTON—The U.S. bishops will vote on the secretary-elect of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and chairs-elect of five committees at their November 10-13 General Assembly in Baltimore.
The following bishops were nominated for these positions.
Bishop Steven Blaire of Stockton, Calif.
Bishop George V. Murry, SJ of Youngstown, Ohio
Bishop Murry was elected secretary last year to complete the term of Bishop Gerald Kicanas of Tucson, Ariz., when Bishop Kicanas was elected USCCB vice-president. USCCB rules permit Bishop Murry to run for a full three-year term.
