Archdiocese of Castries
Castries, Saint Lucia, West Indies
September 14, 2001
Like the rest of the world, we have been stunned by the devastating tragedy which has been inflicted on your country, its people and people of other nations.
On behalf of the entire Archdiocese of Castries and the people of Saint Lucia, I extend to you and your nation our heartfelt sympathy and condolences at the enormous loss of life, pain and suffering which you have sustained.
We are in solidarity with you and today at our Cathedral, as we honor the two religious sisters and priest who have lost their lives in similar violent circumstances, we are offering this memorial for your victims and your country as well.
I have requested all parish priests to celebrate the Memorial Mass and devote one day of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament praying for peace in the world and we ask the Good Shepherd to comfort you and your in this time of need.
