Council of European Bishops' Conferences

Sankt Gallen, Switzerland
September 11, 2001

The president of CCEE, Mgr. Amédée Grab, bishop of Chur (Switzerland), speaking on behalf of the European Bishops' Conferences expresses his shock and grief at the enormity of this tragedy effecting the American people. He invites all people of good will to pray to Almighty God for the victims and for peace in the world.

On such an occasion, humankind needs to pause and ask how to break this cycle of inhumanity and destructive violence and discover new ways of embodying Christ's peace and justice on earth.

Dr. Aldo Giordano
