The Lithuanian Bishops Conference received the breaking news about the terrorist acts upon the America with deep pain. For so many years we have experienced only your goodness and continual aid from your country. At this hour, we feel a brotherly duty and responsibility to assist you and your people filled with such sorrow. Only by prayer can we express our concern and express our solidarity. We assure you that the faithful in Lithuania are interceding for you.

We have declared Sunday, September 16th, a day of prayer for the deceased and for the grieving families and the Peace. We implore our Gracious Father to strengthen the entire American nation in this hour of tragedy, and pray that American be able to maintain her stance s a people of truth and justice.

In unity of prayer,
