Almighty God,
you have given Saint Anthony to your people
as an outstanding preacher
and a ready helper in time of need.
With his assistance may we follow the gospel of Christ
and know the help of your grace in every difficulty.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son…
Prayer Over the Gifts
Lord,
accept the gifts we bring to your altar
in memory of Saint Anthony
As you led him to glory through these mysteries,
grant us also your pardon and love.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.
Prayer After Communion
All powerful God,
by the Eucharist we share at your holy table
on this feast of Saint Anthony
Increase our strength of character and love for you.
May we guard from every danger the faith you have given us
and walk always in the way that leads to salvation.
Grant this in the name of Jesus the Lord.

Opening Prayer
Almighty and most gentle God, who from a rock made flow
a fountain of living water
for your thirsting people,
draw now from the hardness of our hearts
tears of sorrow
that we may weep for our sins
and, by your continued mercy,
be made ready to accept their pardon.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ…
Prayer Over the Gifts
We ask you to look with favor upon these gifts, O Lord,
the Gifts and receive our offering
to your soverign majesty on account of our sins,
that this sacrifice from which pardon flows
as from a fountain
may bestow by your Holy Spirit
the gift of tears for our offenses.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Prayer after Communion
O Lord, may the reverent reception of your Sacrament
wash away the stains of our sins with sighings and tears
and, by your bounty,
obtain for us the pardon we desire.
We ask this through Christ our Lord

noon Renewal of Committment to Priestly Service
BISHOP GREGORY:
My brothers, over these past few days we have sought ways to renew our faithfulness to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. In a spirit of repentance for our sins and with trust that God will give us the grace to more closely follow the model of Christ the Good Shepherd, let us conclude our meeting by renewing our commitment to priestly service. On the day of our ordination as priests we were called to conform ourselves to the cross of Christ. May these days be the beginning of a new dawn of priestly holiness in our country and in our world.
BISHOP GREGORY:
And so, my brothers, I ask you:
Are you ready to renew your dedication to Christ
as priests of his new covenant?
ALL: I am.
BISHOP GREGORY:
At your ordination
You accepted the responsibilities of the priesthood
Out of love for the Lord Jesus and his Church.
Are you resolved to unite yourselves more closely with Christ and to try to become more like him
by joyfully sacrificing your own pleasure and ambition to bring his peace and love to your brothers and sisters?
ALL: I am.
BISHOP GREGORY:
Are you resolved
to be faithful ministers of the mysteries of God,
to celebrate the Eucharist and the other liturgical services with sincere devotion?
ALL: I am.
BISHOP GREGORY:
Are you resolved to imitate Jesus Christ,
the head and shepherd of the Church.
by teaching the Christian faithful
without thinking of your own profit,
solely for the well-being of the people
you were sent to serve?
ALL: I am.
BISHOP GREGORY:
Are you resolved
to pray for the people of God without ceasing,
and to carry out the duties
of one who has the fullness of the priesthood
so as to afford no grounds for reproach?
ALL: I am.
BISHOP GREGORY:
Despite our unworthiness,
are you willing to fulfill the office of apostle
which Jesus Christ has entrusted to you
and to become more like our High Priest and Good Shepherd, the teacher and servant of all,
and so become a genuine sign
of Christ"s loving presence among you?
ALL: I am.
BISHOP GREGORY:
May the Lord in his love
keep you close to him always,
and may he bring all of us,
his bishops, his priests and his people
to eternal life.
ALL: Amen.
The meeting concludes with the singing of the hymn: O God, Our Help in Ages Past.
