Subcommittee on the Translation of Scripture Text
The Subcommittee on the Translation of Scripture Text acts as agent for the conference in granting the approval for translations of the Sacred Scriptures in accord with canon 825 of the Code of Canon Law. The episcopal members who comprise the Subcommittee, along with a team of competent and dedicated scripture scholars, serve the Conference in reviewing translations of the Sacred Scriptures intended for use by U.S. Catholics.
Publishers and individuals who are considering submitting a scripture translation for the Conference's approval are encouraged to contact the Secretariat of Doctrine directly at 202-541-3015 for more detailed information about the requisite procedure.
