First Men in the Moon -- H.G. Wells' tale of an eccentric English inventor (Lionel Jeffries) who uses his discovery of anti-gravity to take a couple (Edward Judd and Martha Hyer) on a trip to the moon in 1899. Directed by Nathan Juran, the preliminaries are mildly amusing but matters turn serious after the trio find an advanced civilization of human-sized insects living in tunnels beneath the lunar surface. L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
O -- morally offensive.
