  • House on Haunted Hill -- At the suggestion of his wife (Carol Ohmart), a sardonic millionaire (Vincent Price) holds a party in an isolated mansion with a history of grisly murders, promising to reward any of his guests (including Richard Long, Alan Marshall and Elisha Cook, Jr.) who spend the night. Director William Castle has some fun in the low-budget fright department, ranging from spooky effects to bizarre deaths, but the tangled plot is full of holes. Menacing atmosphere and a few scares. (A-II) (br) ( 1958 )
