  • Parent Trap, The -- Identical twins (Hayley Mills), raised separately by parents (Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith) who split up shortly after their birth, only learn of the others existence at boarding school and they concoct an elaborate scheme to get Mom and Dad back together again. Typical sentimental Walt Disney family comedy, with parents having the IQ of domestic pets and no match for precocious youngsters. Still, it's genial and mostly heart-warming with good acting thrown in for good measure. (A-I) (br) ( 1961 )

    These movies have been evaluated for artistic merit and moral suitability by the media reviewing division of Catholic News Service. The reviews include the CNS rating, the Motion Picture Association of America rating, and a brief synopsis of the movie.

    A-I -- general patronage;
    A-II -- adults and adolescents;
    A-III -- adults;
    L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
