  • Start the Revolution Without Me -- Fumbled period comedy about two sets of twins (Gene Wilder and Donald Sutherland), one pair aristocratic and the other of peasant stock, who get switched at birth and, years later, get mixed up again during the French Revolution when those raised as noble twins become confused with the cowardly peasant twins who are unwilling members of the revolting mob led by Jack McGowran. Though the situation is promising, Bud Yorkin's direction is remarkably dull, with heavy slapstick routines, inane dialogue and poorly staged attempt at spoofing the old swashbuckler movies. (A-III) (PG) ( 1970 )

    These movies have been evaluated for artistic merit and moral suitability by the media reviewing division of Catholic News Service. The reviews include the CNS rating, the Motion Picture Association of America rating, and a brief synopsis of the movie.

    The classifications are as follows:

    A-I -- general patronage;
    A-II -- adults and adolescents;
    A-III -- adults;
    L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
    O -- morally offensive.

    Note: Some movies previously were designated A-IV. Older films with this classification should be regarded as classified L.
