  • Tribute to a Bad Man -- Dark, brooding Western about a pioneer rancher (James Cagney) who rules the range with an iron hand until his hard heart is softened by an Eastern tenderfoot (Don Dubbins) and a strong, loving woman (Irene Pappas). Directed by Robert Wise, the flawed plot is of less interest than the character study of a man who comes to realize that people mean more than possessions. Stylized violence and implied live-in relationship. (A-II) (br) ( 1956 )
