A Catholic Foundation has provided two years of funding to MRS/PCMR to help “replicate the best practices” that have originated in the dioceses after their participation in the training program. To kick off this new initiative, MRS/PCMR staff hosted a “replicating best practices” workshop at the National Migration Conference. The workshop enabled the participants to share their own challenges and successes in the development and implementation of their Unity in Diversity action plans so as to learn from one another.
Planned activities for the new “Replicating Best Practices” initiative include development of:
- a “Replicating Best Practices” Internet Group/List Serve which will allow dioceses the opportunity to network with one another via the internet concerning their action plans, (this program is being test-piloted with a small group of network contacts at-present, and will be available to the greater PCMR network shortly);
- a “Best Practices Journal” which will include examples of successful programs or initiatives developed by the dioceses to implement the pastoral statement;
- a resource on grants available to assist the dioceses with the programs they develop in their action plan; and
- a lending library of resources (such as videos and curricula developed by dioceses as part of this initiative).
As always, MRS/PCMR staff will try to make every effort to provide technical assistance to dioceses that request this kind of help in the form of consultation and on-site training.
