On the day of 2 November
The commemoration of all the faithful departed, by which holy Mother Church, having just now taken care that all her sons who rejoice in heaven are celebrated with fitting praise, desires to intercede before God on behalf of all the souls who have gone before us with the sign of faith and sleep in hope of resurrection, as well as all those from the beginning of the world whose faith is known to the Lord alone, that cleansed from the contagion of sin and entering into the company of the citizens of heaven, they may rejoice in the vision of eternal blessedness.
