The Secretariat of Child and Youth Protection has compiled a number of resources to use this coming April which is designated Child Abuse Prevention Month.

These resources were designed for use at the parish level during the month of April and can easily be duplicated and distributed to your parishes and schools.

Get Your Parishes and Schools Involved!

It’s Easy! Send this message to all parish safe environment coordinators. Distribute posters and prayer cards for use in parishes and schools Distribute Liturgy Guide to local Office of Worship and help plan a diocesan liturgy. Involve your Office of Communications to highlight the accomplishments of the diocese. Put a link to the SCYP’s website on your Diocesan home page:       http://www.usccb.org/ocyp/

Invite others! Invite schools to use all materials. Invite parishes or schools to sponsor a Take 25 event. Invite the Knights of Columbus, PTO’s, Council of Catholic Women, and other groups to sponsor a Take 25 Event. Invite other denominations to join in your activities. Partner with local child abuse prevention organizations.
