Intercessions for Life

June 2003

Spanish (Español) Version

June 1st SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

For every unborn child:
that the miracle of their life might inspire us
to preserve, protect, and nurture them;
We pray to the Lord:

June 8th PENTECOST SUNDAY
That the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit
might move all the sons and daughters of the Church
to defend the right to life of all God's children;
We pray to the Lord:

June 15th MOST HOLY TRINITY
That through our participation in the divine life,
the Holy Spirit might inspire within us
a growing love for the Gospel of Life;
We pray to the Lord:

June 22nd MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST
That through the gift of his own Body and Blood
Christ might endow the Church with the grace she needs
to preserve and protect the life of all who are innocent and weak;
We pray to the Lord:

June 29th SAINTS PETER AND PAUL, APOSTLES
For Pope John Paul II,
that his unwavering witness to the dignity of life,
might remain a gift to the Church for many years to come;
We pray to the Lord:

"Particularly, among the fundamental rights of man, the Catholic Church claims for every human being the right to life as the primary right. She does it in the name of the truth about man and to protect his freedom that cannot be sustained without respect for the right to life. The Church affirms the right to life of every innocent human being and at every moment of his existence."

Pope John Paul II to the Pontifical Academy of Life (February 27, 2002)
